Reading Week 2019
This year LaPerche is celebrating our 50th anniversary! As a school, we will be celebrating our anniversary during reading week which is April 8th-12th. We will be “Reading Through the Decades” all week.
Below is a list of events that will be occurring throughout the week including our big celebration on Thursday evening!
All Week | Student Athletes from PC, LaPerche Parents and Grandparents, SHS students and Community Members read to students! |
Monday | Readers from the community, including police and fire, will be coming to LaPerche to share their favorite stories. |
Tuesday | Shuffle Story: Surprise teacher readers shuffle around classrooms to read stories and then dance their way to the next room. The musician and storyteller, Keith Munslow, will be visiting the school to share his stories. Thank you to the PTA for this amazing presentation! |
Wednesday | Dressing through the decades. Each grade is invited to dress in the fashions from the decade listed below: 5th Grade- 80’s Neon 4th Grade- 70’s Tie dye 3rd Grade- 90’s grunge 2nd Grade- 80’s Neon 1st- 60’s Hippy Kindergarten- 60’s Hippy Teacher Mystery Readers over the intercom-Read your favorite poem and have the student guess! Babs from Greenville Library is reading to K & 1 |
Thursday | Dr. Paolucci joins the 4th grade for egg experiments! 50th Anniversary Celebration 5:30-7:30pm--Separate flyer with all the details coming tomorrow night! Bring your whole family and join us as we celebrate LaPerche turning 50! |
Friday | Disco Down with a Good Book. Bring your flashlight, blanket and pillow and disco down with a good book throughout the day. |
