It's a REALLY short school week this week with a 3-day Thanksgiving Break beginning on Wednesday! We hope that all families have the opportunity to spend time enjoying family and friends this Thanksgiving.

Like last year, Dr. Paolucci will be sharing a weekly report with Smithfield families to provide the latest information on COVID-19 information and protocols. No School Wednesday, Thursday & Friday for Thanksgiving Break
A reminder that there is no school this Wednesday, 11/24, Thursday, 11/25, and Friday, 11/26 for Thanksgiving Break. We hope that OCRS students, staff, and their families are able to spend Thanksgiving with loved ones and friends that are important to them.
Paperwork for Students to Take Medication While at School
As of July 2014, all medications, prescription and over-the-counter medications (including cough drops) given to students while at school require a physician’s signature. Medication orders must be renewed prior to the start of each school year so that Mrs. Forte has them on file.
If your child needs to be able to take prescription or over-the-counter medications (including cough drops) while they are at school, please complete the attached form with a signature from your child's doctor and return the form to Mrs. Forte. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Forte at cforte@smithfield-ps.org.
Annual Dental Screening
Thank you to those who completed the online form back at the end of October. If you have not yet done so, please complete the form linked below:
Rhode Island State Law section 16-21-9(b) mandates that all students in elementary schools be examined by a dentist at least ONCE a year and once during Grades K-5. Students who are seen yearly by their own dentist do not need to be screened at school. Please complete the form linked below for your students who are currently enrolled at OCRS. Any student who does not have a response listed in the completed form below shall participate in the annual school dental screening.

"Books are Wings" Book Drive
Smithfield High School is organizing a "Books are Wings" book drive in memory of Emily Halloran Otrando. The book drive is running from November 7th to January 1st and they are looking for new and "gently used" books for PreK through 12th grade students. We have a box set up at OCRS to collect the donations. Please see the attached flyer for additional information.
