Elementary teachers were engaged in the science of reading training today. Smithfield teachers are on track to complete the requirements of the Right-to-Read Act in RI by the end of this school year.

The RI Department of Education recognized the 2022-23 district teachers of the year at Waterfire this weekend. Jessica DeRemer, Smithfield's teacher of the year, had the honor of carrying the torch!



Pleasant View kicked off the Local Food Ambassador (LFA) program! Students taste-tested baked beet "fries" during lunch on Friday. Thank you to Chef Reece, the RI Healthy Schools Coalition, FarmFreshRI, and the LFA volunteers for introducing our students to local veggies.
