School Volunteer BCI

Individuals who wish to volunteer in the Smithfield Public Schools must have a current State of RI criminal investigation on file with the Smithfield School Department.

Smithfield Residents

The Smithfield Police Department has updated their procedure for obtaining a BCI check for all volunteers who reside in the town of Smithfield. As a reminder, the Smithfield Police Department is unable to accept the forms in the lobby of the police station.

Non-Smithfield Residents

Non-Smithfield Residents should inquire at the police station in the town residing in, OR non Smithfield Residents may go to the RI Attorney General's Office in Cranston.

Non-Smithfield Residents are required to bring in the original BCI results to the Superintendent's office at 49 Farnum Pike, Smithfield, RI 02917.
